01 The studio

sidestudio is an independent brand, software and operations studio based in Jakarta, Indonesia, operating since 2022. We design brand identities and build custom business systems for owners worldwide — client work to date spans the Netherlands, Japan, Germany, Brazil, Italy and Indonesia.

02 How engagements work

Scope in writing first. Every job gets a written scope, price and delivery date before any work starts. If your job doesn't fit a listed price, you get a written quote within 48 hours.
Payment: 50% to start, 50% on handover. Bank transfer or Wise, invoiced in USD. Retainers are billed monthly up-front.
Revisions: two rounds included on every line item; additional rounds billed at a flat hourly rate agreed in advance.
Timelines: brand/web 2–3 weeks, systems 4–8 weeks. We commit to a date in the scope document.
Support: every build includes 30 days of post-launch support. After that, the Operate Plan or flat per-feature fees — see pricing.

03 Ownership & continuity

You own everything. Code repository, database, hosting and domain accounts are created in your name from day one. We work as collaborators on your infrastructure — not landlords renting it back to you.
Handover package included. Every system ships with documentation in your repository: architecture overview, runbook, dependency list, and where credentials live.
Continuity clause. If we are unavailable for 14 consecutive days or more, you may engage any third party to maintain or extend the system using the handover package — no consent required, no fees owed.
No lock-in, ever. Cancelling a retainer takes 30 days' notice and nothing stops working when you do.

04 Privacy

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives a standard font request from your browser.
Project briefs and questionnaires you fill in are stored on our server, used only for your engagement, never shared or sold, and deleted on request — one email is enough.
Your business data (sales, inventory, customers) lives in your systems on your accounts. We access it only to build and support what you hired us for.
EU clients: we host on infrastructure of your choosing and sign a data processing agreement (DPA) before the build starts.

05 The spirit of it

We run restaurants, a bakery and a production kitchen of our own. We write terms the way we'd want to read them as owners: short, honest, and with the exits clearly marked. If anything here is unclear, ask — you'll get a straight answer in writing.
